Yesterday I fired my new kiln.
I was soooooo excited.
Here's what greeted me when I lifted the lid this morning ....
And this was the view pre-firing |
And a few close-ups ...
Just had to be nice and give it to a friend |
In Liverpool now with Fabia & Kostas |
Fleur took them back to Santa Barbara, CA |
With Frances now in El Cerrito, CA |
We're not going anywhere 'cause our glaze isn't perfect |
Anyone fancy a brew?
ReplyDeletehaven't put them to the test yet ... feel I should be going into glass-blowing so we could mark the occasion with something stronger ;)
Deletean irish coffee might also do the trick ;)
DeleteWow, the glazes really bring the items to life. I love all of them, but I think the top one with the heart and the next ones down are particularly wonderful. And that was your first time in your own kiln! Blimey, I am expecting very great things!
ReplyDeleteOh it's great getting your reply from Japan, makes me feel quite important! Hear you've been looking through some amazing craft stores they have over there! Bet it makes the ones over here seem like toy shops :(. 'Expecting great things'????? No pressure then, LOL !
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteHehe. Did we all get one of these?
ReplyDeletePssssst Frances, don't let on, Ansgar and Sarah didn't. ;))
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new kiln! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty small one, 40 ltr capacity - the price wasn't small though lol, saving up for a pugmill :(
